How did you attract/ address your audience?

Before we began our magazine we carried out some primary research which would help me in designing the initial magazine itself. Hence my magazine is based on the response from the questionnaire, and it is suited to the reader’s desire. My front cover of the magazine consists of a black background with vibrant colours and titles. The reason I chose to keep it a dark background and bold bright titles was because it is very eye catching. The title itself is rainbow coloured and looks very edgy.



At the centre of the magazine cover I have placed a figure of a person, because I didn’t want it to just have writing. Since my music magazine theme is based on Funk, I decided to have the person figure holding an electric guitar. This way the will also be aware of the genre that the magazine is based on. The front cover also includes subheadings that are intriguing for e.g. one of the subheadings includes an exclusive interview with the Subverts. I have tried to keep the layout versatile, although I want it to look different, I wanted to keep the readers effect the same as if they were buying another music magazine.



Another attraction my magazine includes is additional offer of winning tickets to a live concert. This is a very good technique to address and keep the readers attention. If they know that they will gain something out of buying the magazine, then they will definitely consider investing. Also my magazine is appealing to a range of audiences, it appeals to people who like Funk, and appeals to teenagers who maybe exulting new music
